Bhubaneswar, 4th May, 2016: The Prime Minister of India’s official Website www.pmindia.gov.in is now available in Odia language. The PMO launched website in six regional languages last week i.e. Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, Malayalam, Guajarati, and Telugu in which Odia was not available.
After the launching of the website there was a strong resentment among language activist in Odisha. They said despite being Classical language the PM had ignored Odia.
Eminent Politician & Odia Bhasa Surakhya Samilani, President, Baishnaba Charana Parida said that it will help the language to prosper and take PMO closer to Odia speaking people, he also welcomed it as a good initiative.
Apart from Odia, the PMO has also added Kannada language. Kannada language is also a Classical language. Now the website is available in 10 languages including English & Hindi.
