Bhubaneswar, 22nd May, 2016: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results for Class XII have once again shown girls outperforming boys. Sukriti Gupta, a student from Delhi’s Montfort School is the national topper securing a score of 497 out of 500.
The other two top performers are Palak Goyal from Tagore Public School, Haryana securing the second position with 496, followed by Somya Uppal from St Teresa’s Convent School, Haryana who scored 495.
With a pass percentage of 88.58 percent, girls performed better than boys. Boys recorded a pass percentage of 78.85 percent.
Region-wise, South India has done better than others with the overall pass percentage of Thiruvanathapuram region at 97.61 percent being the highest followed by Chennai which has a pass percentage of 92.63.
For Eastern region, Subham Acharya of Mothers Public School, Bhubaneswar securing 98.40 percent of marks has emerged topper in this year’s annual XII examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results.
Ayushi Agarwal of Delhi Public School in Risali of Chhattisgarh secured the second position with 97.8 percent. The third position was shared by Rishav Kumar, also of Delhi Public School in Risali, and Sandeep Pattanayak of Sai International School in Bhubaneswar. Both of them scored 487 marks with 97.4 percent.
Students in different CBSE-affiliated schools in Bhubaneswar came out with flying colours. At Buxi Jagabandhu English Medium School, of the 219 students who appeared in Science stream, 42 secured above 90 pc and 193 were placed in first division. Vivek Suman with 96.4 pc was the topper in Science while the overall pass percentage for the school was 99.54. In Commerce stream, the topper was Manprit Kaur who scored 89.4 pc. Students of DAV-Chandrasekharpur registered a pass percentage of 87.29 in Science stream, 80.79 in Commerce and 88.5 in Humanities. At least 284 students had written the tests and 281 of them scored 60 pc and above. Suvam Mishra was the topper in Science stream with 479 marks (95.8 pc).
